Alisa Chunchue Presents works in 'No One's Ark', at Bilker Bunker, Düsseldorf, Germany.
Conceived around the tensions between the bunker and the ark-as spaces of refuge, uncertainty, and imagined futures-the exhibition brings together four artists whose works reflect on protection, violence, memory, and survival.
Presented in the exhibition, Alisa Chunchue's 'I Remember How It Felt' examines the traces of sustained bodily harm through repeated incisions on stainless steel, referencing the body on a medical bed, while fragile glass reflects bodily vulnerability. Installed within the bunker, the work redefines the exhibition space as both refuge and shelter, while unsettling the idea of safety. Set against concrete marked by time and abrasion, the installation reveals how violence persists beneath silence, and how the body remembers.
