Bakudengar

Ipeh Nur is presented as part of 'Bakudengar', a group exhibition developed by a Public in Residence at Museum Arnhem.

Curated collaboratively by six makers, the exhibition brings together artists who have created new works in response to shared dialogues around the Indonesian archipelago and its diasporic connections. Rooted in the idea of listening as a mutual and active process, 'Bakudengar' invites both participants and audiences to engage in ongoing exchanges through its artworks and public programmes.

Within this framework, the exhibition reflects on complex historical and contemporary issues, including colonial legacies, migration, environmental concerns, and cultural memory. With particular attention to regions such as West Papua, Maluku, and Minahasa, as well as the Chinese-Indonesian community, the exhibition presents diverse perspectives that resonate on both personal and collective levels.
